Seven places to put it

The four corners, the middle of the left and right edges, and bottom center. In the corners and on the side edges new shots stack vertically; at bottom center they line up side by side.

How it works

Screenshot Shelf watches your screenshot folder and drops every new shot on a floating shelf at the edge of your screen, in the position you choose. From there it is one drag into your AI coding agent while you build.

  1. It watches your screenshot folder. The app lives in the menu bar. It finds the folder macOS saves screenshots to on its own (from com.apple.screencapture), or watches a folder you pick.
  2. Every new shot lands on the shelf. The shelf floats on top of your other windows, so it stays in view whatever app you are in.
  3. Drag it where you need it. Pull a thumbnail straight into your agent's prompt, or into any other app that accepts files: it uses the standard file drag of macOS.
  4. The shelf clears itself. Shots leave after 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes, or never. Hovering the shelf pauses the timers.

Settings and updates

One settings window holds the three choices: the folder to watch, the shelf position and the auto-dismiss interval. The app checks brtdv.com for new versions on a schedule, and Check for Updates… in the menu bar checks right away.
